This year's international feature film competition’s ten films cover themes, such as political and social issues shared by contemporaries and the fundamental questions of life and death from different spectrums and perspectives, to gain fresh insight. The aesthetic experiments of each film make each director's unique perspective more colorful and vivid, elevating the level of art. In this year’s International Narrative Feature Competition, Natural Light depicts how humans became tools of violence through war crimes during World War II; Junho, painfully illuminates the aftershocks left by the #MeToo incident in the Korean theater industry; The Night Doctor depicts how a night doctor is pulled into illegal drug trafficking and a series of unexpected events; Botox is a well-written black comedy about two sisters who are caught up in an unexpected murder case; Strawberry Mansion draws a vividly realistic future where dreams can be controlled; Neighbours looks at the violent nature of fundamentalism through the eyes of a young Kurdish boy; Hot Sou/, an interesting aesthetic experiment of the desire for happiness of four women in modern Shanghai depicted as one person; I was a Simple Man shows a unique and in-depth reflection on death; Clara Solar depicts a woman fighting to find her life, entangled with her family; Queen of Glory is a comedy about an immigrant finding his/her identity.
