A film festival is held in “Neomeonggul,” the farmland of a return farmer, a green area in the backwoods country. The Neomeonggul Film Festival reached its third anniversary since its gallant departure. During the course of which the half-fledged film festival turns into a solid event, the youth in charge of it have second thoughts on the romance they sought in exchange for reality. The return farmers eventually declare their renouncement of the site, and the remaining youth struggle in pursuit of a new place and meaning. Will the festival still carry significance if it relocates from Neomeonggul? Will it persist? After going through two full years of the pandemic, we desperately yearn for a film festival where we can round up to appreciate and have a talk about films. ruminates over the true essence of film festivals. Here, the audience’s gathering place becomes a theater, and the audience interact to form a film collective.
