Matryoshka

Korea20217mincolorAnimation

A family of matryoshka dolls displayed on the shelf of a master craftsman’s store is waiting for a new owner. A child comes into the store with its mom and wants to buy the doll family. The smallest of the dolls desperately runs away from the kid with hopes of staying in the store but gets caught and moves to the kid’s house. It is natural for everyone to feel both anxious and excited when his or her living environment changes. The directors say that they wanted to describe the anxious feelings and unexpected pleasure associated with a change in the surroundings through the film. The film uses warm colors and succeeds in expressing the realistic textures of the props, such as wood grains, fabric and the dolls. Warm smiles from the audience will show the director that he has succeeded in achieving his goal of creating a film that instantly heals people.
