Jeongin, raising her young daughter alone, moves back to her old neighborhood. For some reason she steals one of the flower pots in front of a house and gets caught by middle school Gayoung, who lives with her father. Jeongin still takes the pot back home. As they bump into each other another day, Jeongin asks Gayoung to pretend she didn’t see her. In the film, that pot is branded with the memories of the person who took loving care of it as well as the place it stayed. The stolen pot transplants those memories into Jeongin’s house. It holds a warm energy that sets Jeongin and her son at ease. Now, they name the plant “Security.” It’s been quite a while since Jeongin grew a plant. Perhaps, she wanted to settle into her new phase of life just like the plant took root in the pot.
