Old Kyungok's lives alone in poverty. Her electricity is cut. The lights are out, and the refrigerator has stopped whirring. Kyungok has a cast on one foot from a recent accident, making it hard for her to move around. She calls her son Jinseub to visit her. He tells her that he will without really meaning it. Kyungok, has received two lunch boxes from the Catholic welfare center that provides free meals occasionally. She waits to eat with her son. As can be suspected from the title, eating is the main motif of the film in . Eating together means more than filling ourselves with food to sustain ourselves. Kyungok is served with meals at the welfare center or hospital, but she wants to share them with her son. The meaning of family stems from the Chinese characters that mean eat together, while living under the same roof. Kyongok does not live with her son, but she has not given up on the concept of eating together with him. When will she be able to share a meal with her son?
