Kal Fatmeh

Iran. A remote area high up in the mountains far from the village. Kal Fatmeh lives with her two young sons and runs a small farm raising livestock. She has a speech impairment and has a hard time communicating with people. Her daily routine is filled with all kinds of hard labor. Her sons also help her, herding cattle, but life is hard on this family. In his previous film, , director Mahdi Zamanpor zoomed into a family living in a remote Iranian village. The deep bond he has with his subjects shines brightly in as well. Fatmeh, due to her speech impairment, has to rely on gestures to communicate. This is captured by a stranger's camera, who silently listens to her. Despite her communication limitations, she calmly tells the stories from the bottom of her heart. She talks about motherhood for a daughter who lived an unhappy life. She laments over the discrimination women have experienced.
