Fiona supports her sick husband and her daughter in South Africa. She makes money through hard labor, but there are not many things that she can do to earn a living. A god-fearing lady, Fiona finds herself in a transactional relationship with a renowned church leader. Absolute poverty exploits a woman's body and a hypocritical religious power uses Fiona as a tool to meet sexual desire. The film depicts the social issues of the nation by cross-connecting the structure of religious circles and the sexual trafficking of the poor. Director Khumalo made this movie after an inspiring conversation with a deeply religious sex worker. He says he wanted to tell people that the very institutions that are supposed to help us survive could sometimes become what are bringing us down.
