Commentary Screening
Focus on <Les Lieux d'une fugue> Georges Perec, a stroller in Paris
Perec has created as many diverse works for the film culture as he has for the field of literature. He wasn’t shy of crossing different genres and types, engaging in documentary, fiction, short film, feature film and even television films. Unlike the nouveau cinema movement group (e.g. Duras, Robbe-Grillet) that viewed cinema as a process of recovering literary value, Perec had a passion for film itself and genuinely explored images and sounds. The screening and commentary, focusing on Perec’s <Les Lieux d'une fugue>, will help the audience find a way to better understand his world of creativity.

Nowadays, the act of making or watching a film can no longer be considered special in itself. Nevertheless, why is film yet to be established as an everyday activity? This event, which consists of workshops, lectures, and discussions, was prepared to examine what is needed to make a film more approachable daily activity, and to present examples of practical methods to consider.
